Was pulled over for speeding

I was pulled over late at night for speeding, the police say I will receive a letter from TFL, as that's who I am licensed with as a Private hire driver.

The problem here is that I am going away on holiday in 3 days for 33 nights and I won't be able to respond to any letters during that time. Is there a specific time limit that i need in order to act upon any letters?

Did he say what you are going to receive in this letter from TFL?

AFAIK TFL do not enforce speeding. Are you sure he didn't say you would receive something in the post 'and' also something from TFL licencing?

To answer your question, you will have 28 days to respond to either a COFP or book a speed awareness course. You might be unlucky and receive this documentation the day you go away, but outside of that there is a good chance 28 days will not have expired by the time you get back.

Alternatively you could try to contact the constabulary concerned and see if there is anything pending and let them know of you travel plans.

A letter regarding what action TFL will take due to me being pulled over for speeding.

I did a bit of Chatgpt’ing and found that since I am licensed with TFL, only they can take action and not the police since I was on a job. I did try and search the forum but I couldn’t find similar results.

If it does expire (worst case) can I provide evidence that I was away and not being able to respond within the timeframe?

I'm not sure I would rely on it for competent legal advice.

They don't usually give a "ticket" at the roadside these days.

ChatGPT is plain wrong: the police can take action.

And I doubt (though could be wrong) that the police would contact TfL unless they do take action. Being "pulled over" is not an offence. At least not yet.

The police can take action for speeding (a crime). TfL might take action against your taxi licence etc.
