Minor gripe about the board colour scheme
« on: »
Is it just me that finds the pastel shades, lack of contrast and piddly font a bit uneasy on the eyes?

Or is it just an age thing?

@sparx any css wizardry you can suggest?
I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.

I think we should be all inclusive and have all these gorgious colours in the background. Blue seems,,, well too rightwing.

Yet blue is my favourite colour, so… 🤷🏻‍♂️
I am not qualified to give legal advice in the UK. While I will do my best to help you, you should not rely on my advice as if it was given by a lawyer qualified in the UK.

My only thought would be to change the theme, but doesn't appear like CAF supports uploading custom themes.

You can switch everyone to the default SMF theme, in Layout Settings set the Default theme and "Reset everyone to" theme to "Default Theme - Core". This might break other devices though.

Edit: In the Style Manager in the admincp you can select different colour schemes I think... there's a wicked green one  :-X

To be honest I looked at the other default schemes and they all seem horrid to me:

The Style CSS tab has options to change colours:

but I don't have hours to spent playing around with that, and blue is sp's favourite colour, so that would seem to be the end of the matter.

Changing the CSS for the span.botslice class to

background: #aaa;
padding: 2px
height: 2px

Gave a pleasing effect to my eyes

Looks fine to me, and I'm at that age where I now know what the old guys meant when they use to say to me as a 16 year old 'the minds young, but the bodies old'.
