Euro Car Parks PCN BP Garage
« on: »
My wife and I have just acquired an electric vehicle that we usually charge at her work place overnight.
She is currently on leave so we had to use our local BP garage rapid charger. Spent just under £40 and went on our merry way.
Today we have recieved a PCN:

What should we mention in our appeal?

Thank you in advance.

Your first step should be to speak to the managers of the garage to see if they can intervene - it's probably not good for business for punters to be picking up parking charges whilst charging up their electric vehicles.

Before you send any appeals we'll need to see photographs of all the signage at the site, the signage setting out the Euro Car Parks terms and conditions (as well as it's placement and prominence), and any signage around the car charging bays.

Understood.

Will speak with manager, then I'll take photos of signage, if no joy.

Thank you.

Spoke to the BP garage staff, manager wasn't on duty. Was told to send screenshot of charging app statement and, in future, to log my car registration with them everytime I use their charger.

Here is the response from Euro Car Parks:

Thank you for your free advice.

I truly appreciate your time and effort.

Excellent - good to see some rare common sense applied by the parking company. Well done!
