support the forum.
« on: October 29, 2024, 09:59:19 am »
I have had some fantastic advise from this and former forum, im so glad it was kept up, i have now subscribed for five years, i think with all the money you guys have saved me from handing over it is well worth the money and urge anyone else to do so, even just for the year to say thank you.

Can i suggest some kind of title instead of 'newbie' for forum supporters, or a badge that shows you have supported it for whatever amount of time paid ?

From a quick skim, it appears that "supporters" are supporting the forum provider (CAF) who in turn provide the forum with more storage (just use third party image hosting people), as opposed to the BB&Gs back in the PePiPoo days, which paid for the hosting and funded legal cases.
I am responsible for the accuracy of the information I post, not your ability to comprehend it.

When @Southpaw82 and I set up the forum there was an option to provide some sort of premium subscription, but we made a deliberate choice not to go down that route. To be honest we don't need money, what we lack is manpower. If you really want to help, get your knowledge up to the point where you can give advice and then help us respond to the endless stream of new posts, as soon as you start posting in high volumes the newbie badge will disappear.
I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor nor a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193.

It is good that the forum is receiving new posts. During my frequent visits to Furnival Street, there are still many people who have not heard of us. I do not include the adjudicators.  ;) It is impossible to ignore a nutter wearing a FTLA T shirt and a necklace with a Lotus Espirit hanging around his neck - the one in The Spy Who Loved Me.

That reminds me: I must post the other shirt to cp8759.  8)

Would it be an idea to set up a series of webinars that could help those interested to get up to speed?

I’d definitely be more than happy to help in any way I can.

I try to give advice where I can, usually bus and coach related.I've only had my bus licence 52 years.
Bus driving since 1973. My advice, if you have a PSV licence, destroy it when you get to 65 or you'll be forever in demand.

I'm not sure webinars would be viable, it's probably easier to just observe hearings. I have two TPT hearings next week if anyone wants to come and watch, you just need a phone or laptop.
