This may be true in the US, in the UK the effect of GDPR is that:

1) This is bollocks, or
2) The GPDR payouts are going to be huge, to the point that some of these companies could go under.

This is about the same as saying that cell phones and CCTV are bad because in China that data is used to track every citizen: it may well be true, but so what?
