Update
I uploaded evidence. I was not at the location on the portal received an email. They’d be in touch within 10 working days.
10 working days of elapsed, no reply
I tried to phone them Friday because it’s a bank holiday Monday they are closed on Friday
I will ring them first thing in the morning when I wake up, but I have no hope the women on the phone seem to fob you off
Not a very good helpline
If I have no luck tomorrow with the helpline, my plan is to send the paper and all the evidence showing I wasn’t at the location
My dilemma is which box do I take? I was the driver on the occasion I wasn’t the driver on the occasion.
If I wasn’t the driver who was
Your update, is that your claim that they had to reply within 10 days, which we told you was bollox, somehow quite unexpectedly turned out to be bollox.
As a result of this entirely unexpected turn of events, you have bumped your thread by repeating your earlier question(s) with no regard for the answer you have already been given, and even acknowledged with a "like".
My dilemma is which box do I tick?
It's almost as if the proforma doesn't account for every possibility.
Update
The lady at the police said
Somebody’s looking into the evidence I sent and she has put a note on the system and I don’t have to return the paper as of yet
They are running behind because of the bank holiday
Not at all
This is the Email I got from uploading evidence on the police portal

As has already been said multiple times, saying that they aim to respond within 10 working days is not the same as them promising to reply within that period.
Your obligations in respect of replying to the S.172 requirement would appear to be unchanged.
Just send a covering letter saying your car was not at the place stated at the date and time provided so you cannot help them.
Staple this to the NIP and write see attached covering letter.
Take a photo copy of everything and get proof of posting.
Job done and forget about it.
They will either write to you saying it’s been dropped. Issue a new nip with correct details or prosecute you for failing to furnish.
Only do the above if you are 100% sure you were elsewhere and haven’t misread the nip.
I have sent the S172 back via special delivery
With attached letter stating I wasn’t driving in NW1
And added evidence I was elsewhere
Now we will see what they do
Thanks
Re-reading this thread, you say in the opening thread "on the 31st of July 2025 I allegedly was caught speeding 25 in a 20 mph zone on the NIP the address is Baker Street London NW1 however as I drive a taxi I was on a Taxi app job of which I have proof I was in Victoria SW1
I have submitted evidence myself. My vehicle was on a taxi job 4 miles away. They have to respond by the 21st of August
You say you were on a taxi job in Victoria. Presumably you're a black cab driver, do you own the cab or do you hire it in from one of the many cab hire firms? Were you driving your cab at that time? Or had someone else been using your cab and got their photo taken and you were using someone else's cab??
Correct I’m a black cab driver. It is my cab. I am the registered keeper. I’m the only one insured to drive it.
Just received this email today
Good morning,

Well done, Good result. i wonder how many other 'wrong' NIP's have been sent out.
