Hi Forum, the car company (ZIP CAR) changed my car on the morning of the booking hence i had to change the online parking booking. Instead of AB12 3CDE , i put A12 3DE therefore missing a the "B" out in error. Obviously the CCTV then sends a Parking Charge Notice (This was on private land/car park and not council) to the car hire company within a week.

Car Hire company simply pays the notice and bills be for it plus £15 Admin Fee. As it has already been paid i fear "Workflow Dynamics Ltd" who sent out the notice wont bother to even review/revoke the notice as they have got the payment for the charge.

In the notice it says no right to submit appeal if charge is paid and also there was a paragraph stating "if you were not the driver, in order to transfer liability, please provide details of the driver....."

Therefore i think the remaining avenue is with ZIP Car itself as it jumped the gun in paying leaving me no chance to appeal/ dispute the ticket?

I thought if i could speak to Workflow Dynamics Ltd i could ask them to revoke based on my booking and then take it up with ZIP CAR.

Any ideas?

This is now a dispute between you and the hire company. Workflow Dynamics have been paid and for them the matter is closed. They issued a parking charge notice to a company, who accepted liability and then paid.

The starting point for your dispute with Zip Car will be the terms and conditions of your contract with them, which you agreed to upon hiring the car.

Instead of AB12 3CDE , i put A12 3DE therefore missing a the "B" out in error.
Oops!
There are motorists who have been scammed and those who are yet to be scammed!

What exactly does the wording in your hire agreement with ZIP say about parking charges? Remember, it was not a "fine" nor a "penalty" from any authority but a simple invoice for an alleged breach of contract between the driver and the PPC.

As already noted, the issue is now between you and ZIP. The PPC is laughing all the way to the bank. If ZIP did not have the right to pay an invoice from an unregulated private parking company because the terms you agreed and signed with them for the car, then you have valid grounds to sue them in the county court.

Unfortunately, for you, this is not really a "parking" issue but a Consumer Rights issue.

then you have valid grounds to sue them in the county court.

Card charge back would probably be easier!

I don’t disagree. However, that then opens up the hirer to a suit in the county court from ZIP. At least their money is in their own pocket until any dispute is settled.

Anyway, as I mentioned, this is now a contractual dispute over whether ZIP had a right to do what they did.
