Update:
had a text from BPO asking me to phone them quoting a ref number.
Am I right inn thinking that Moorside have bailed and sold on the debt to BPO.
If true what is a good course of action?

Who are BPO? They're not a name I've heard mentioned in relation to private parking charges.

It would also be somewhat unusual to hear from a debt collector after the matter has escalated to solicitors. Are you sure this text from BPO is in relation to this parking charge?

Moorside won't have sold the debt as it is not theirs to sell, Alliance is the (alleged) creditor, not them. In practice, we don't see parking companies selling debts - they engage debt collectors, but remain the creditor themselves (from memory, their KADOE contract with DVLA prohibits them from selling any alleged debts, but don't quote me on that).

Yeah I'll go onto BPOs website tomorrow and see what their story is and update.
The phone number supplied is theirs so not likely to be a scam.
I'm not aware of any other debts though...so can't imagine what else it can be.
I also registered on the reportfraud.police.uk website this evening and will report Alliance for attempted fraud by false representation when their Chat facility comes online tomorrow morning.

Sounds a lot like an entirely unrelated scam. BPO Collections are a real company from what I can see, but as I noted I've never seen them come up collecitng for a parking company - this is likely a con artist posing as BPO.

Thanks...yeah I also had a phone call that went to voicemail saying they were from BPO so I googled the number (01418462076) which does resolve to BPO but on the "who called me" website its cited as scam calls.  Weird though as the number they give to call is BPOs number and BPO sort of look legit.   Good to know that BPO aren't involved with PCNs.

I used BPOs chat but the agent wanted a load of my personal details before they would tell me who I'm supposed to owe money to...so I quit the chat.
Also went onto the chat facility on reportfraud.police.uk and reported Alliance parking for attempted fraud...though they most likely have to actually take me to court to make it stick. If we go to court then I can report Moorside legal to the SRA for their part in the attempted fraud.

We haven't seen any of the evidence you intend to rely on, but it's worth remembering that defending your current civil case is likely to be easier than demonstrating fraud. To defend your case, you simply need to establish that, on the balance of probabilities, Alliance have not adequately proven that the driver failed to display a ticket.

To demonstrate fraud there would likely be a need to demonstrate intent, which would involve proving that a ticket was displayed (this is not necessarily the same as showing that Alliance have failed to prove that one wasn't displayed), and proving that the warden knew a ticket was displayed but produced evidence that deliberately hid this fact.

We haven't seen your evidence, so you might already have covered all of this of course.
