Dear Forum Members,
I need advice on how to dispute a parking ticket I recently received. The situation is as follows:
I parked at Mayfield leisure centre for just11 minutes to make an enquiry regarding a looked-after child in care. I was attending to an important matter and did not overstay unnecessarily. However, I have now been issued with a parking ticket.
Key points:
• I was parked for only 11 minutes
• I was there to make an enquiry about a child in care, which was a professional and time-sensitive matter.
I’d appreciate advice on:
1. Whether the grace period rule applies in this case
2. How best to phrase my appeal to the parking operator (or escalate if needed).
3. Any additional steps I can take to strengthen my case, particularly given the sensitive nature of my visit.
I can provide evidence to support my claim, including the exact time I was parked and the purpose of my visit.
Thank you in advance for your help and guidance.
Best regards
CK
