Hey Folks,

I was issued a private parking charge notice from Smart Parking Ltd as I am the registered keeper of the vehicle V44RNW. I received this on the 27th of the May 2026.
One key thing to mention up front is that the PCN is issued to a Silver Daewoo but my car is a Grey Skoda. I did not mention this in my appeal, as I used a standard template I have for PCNs.

Smart parking has returned and rejected my appeal. I am now looking for advice on how to appeal to ISA, and what to say to them if possible.

Private Charge Notice Details:
Number: SP10304290
Date: 27/05/26
Time: 09:51
Place: Weighhouse Close, Paisley, PA1 1AG
Registration: V44RNW
Make: Daewoo (THIS IS INCORRECT)
Colour: Silver (THIS IS INCORRECT)
Contravention: 06 - Parked Without A Valid Ticket

PCN Details:

Inital Appeal

Appeal Rejected:

Any and all advice would be amazing and appreciated!

Hey Folks,

I recieved a Penelty Charge Notice for Contravention 23 in Glasgow (wilson street). I was stopped for less than 3 minutes in total, grabbed something from a friend round the corner and was walking back when I got the ticket. He even handed it to me as he was still filling out the details. I will post the details below, and the evidence they have. You can even see me walking to the drivers door in one of the photos, AND in the only photo with my licence plate, you can see I am actively reversing (reverse light on).

I was just wondering if there was any way to fight this? I included a photo of Wilson Street below and you can see in the spot I was, the green designation was faded (I attached one from google maps but can easily get a photo of this spot for when I actually appeal). Would contravention 23 be the correct one here, I would have expected an EV specific contravention. My issue comes that I am unsure which angle to appeal it from; Road markings, contravention choice, lack of evidence (as the only licence evidence shows the car in transit), and I am definetly unsure if any of that is even worthwhile.

Some advice would be really appreciated!

I don't know if the 10 min statutory grace applies in Scotland but in any case you've misunderstood when it applies - it's only after you've been parked in a paid or unpaid parking place.

In your case you just parked on a yellow line during the restricted time.

It is true that in London there is or has bee guidance not to issue within 2 mins of a yellow line restriction ending or at start of one beginning but you are way outside this.

That is pretty unfortunate! I thought it was general but that makes a bunch of sense considering what I have read so far.

I guess in this instance I really dont have much of a leg to stand on which is painful. For a full 7 minutes! I cant see any other real aspect I could bring up.

No need, just update this thread; it's what everybody else does.

That makes sense! Cheers!

Short Summary From My Side:
I pulled up at around 09:15 BST and had not noticed that I was parked in the single yellow line zone since it was faded and I was in a rush. I also did not notice the sign which was pointed towards the pavement. I know neither of these are any form of defense, just adding detail. I recieve the Penelty Charge Notice at 09:22 and the Evidence is marked as at 09:23. That is 7 minutes before the parking allowed in the zone which is maybe my main formulation behind this since in a 10 minute grace peroid, I would have no longer been parking outside the restricted times. I actually had returned to my car by 09:40.

What I Am Looking For:
I am hoping someone could give me some advice on how to approch this and if my grace peroid 10 minutes even makes sense. I have started trawling through legislation to see if its codified anywhere but its slow progress considering I am not used to the language. I have fought private tickets in the past but I am finding the council issued PCN to be a whole other kettle of fish. I dont want to go ahead and write out my appeal until I have a better understanding so if anyone could help with that insight or where to go that would be good. Then I can write my appeal and maybe have someone give it a once over. £50 is unfortunately a lot of money for me just now.

I appreciate any help given.

We need much more information, than just a few photos. Please read this and update your thread accordingly : -
https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/

Please also post a GSV link to the location, and tell us exactly where you parked

Apologies, I am slapping myself for missing that somehow.

I will abandon this topic and when I return home will go post a new one that adhere to the guidelines

Hey folks,

Looking for a touch of advice on this one. Pulled up at 9:20 and thought nothing of it since parking was allowed within 10 minutes. I then come back later and it looks like I got a parking ticket at 9:23.

Location: South Lanarkshire, Glasgow
Reason: parking/loading in a Controlled Parking Zone out with the alloted time

Looking around I am sure there must be some ability to appeal this on some grace period or how close it was to the allowed parking time. I am just unsure how I can word this.

I also noticed the lines are fairly faded here as well which I could contribute to it.

Any suggestions would help alot folks!
