TFL PCNs
« on: »
This is a general announcement that all TFL's PCNs for red routes / moving traffic / bus lane contraventions have a number of systemic flaws that render them all open to challenge, but only if the motorist does not take any action without being given some specific instructions which I'd rather not ventilate publicly. Anyone with a TFL PCN should contact me directly and I'll deal with them.

This does not apply to ULEZ/LEZ, the congestion charge or the Blackwell and Silvertown tunnel PCNs.

If TFL are reading this, I promise you I'm really, really not trying to target you more than any other authority, it's just that your processes are $hit and have more holes than a sieve, that's not my fault.

I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.

There is a CC PCN here:
https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/cc-pcn/

Lost cause though as it's far too late.

I did realise but thought you wanted to see a CC PCN

https://www.ftla.uk/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=5397.0;attach=12882;image

(but it's only page 1 - @sabitasin seems to be still active, so he may see this and post remaining pages if it is going to help others)

Well now I am kicking myself because today I paid a red route PCN, after having requested the photo and video evidence (utterly ridiculous to have to write to them to request, and then get sent the video on a CD!) ... the video did show me clearly parking in a loading-only zone (perhaps stupidly, but the sign wasn't obviously visible from where I parked. Not really a defense though!) ...  I am contemplating posting the letters and photo/video evidence just to see whether anyone says that I could have escaped the charge, as useful information should I make the same mistake in the future.

Hi CP8759

I have received a PCN from TFL today. Should I create a new post for my pcn or message you?

Thanks

Hello , I have a pcn. Let me know what you do?

It’s for the new Blackwall tunnel. I am hoping I can dispute on first time grounds.

Hello.

I have received a bus lane PCN - Should I post here, or in the PCN forum. I have read the sticky, but which would seem to say post in the PCN forum. But now reading this sticky I am a little confused. I just don't want to post in the wrong place.

If someone would please advise. I would be grateful.

Thank You

Hi, I am after some advice if anyone can help, i went through Blackwall and Silvertown, I paid the fee the next morning but I hadn't realised that I had put the payment date down as the crossing date which should have been the day before.
They are saying I need to pay because it's my fault putting the wrong date, which I feel  is wholly unfair, i have paid and within the time frame and I only went through once.
Thanks
Lee

Sorry when I say pay I mean pay a fine of £90.
