Facing Bailiffs / potential CCJ - England

A few months ago I started receiving fines from London for all sorts, congestion charges, parking tickets, speeding tickets etc. I am located in Norwich, Norfolk and have never driven to London. My car / plates had been cloned, I responded ULEZ etc. and got in touch with the police - receiving a letter which recognised my car / plate as cloned. It got quite overwhelming and I thought I had done all I needed, I went through a period of working over 100 nights in a row during this time and I guess there was something I missed as now it's been handed to 2 debt collection companies - one say I owe £515, that it's already been to court and the next step is a CCJ if I don't pay immediately and I've lost my right to fight the case. The other say I owe over 3k but are allowing me to send them an email with the letter I received from the police. Am I really screwed? Do I have no choice but to pay? I've worked so hard and now I'm losing a considerable amount of money over something I genuinely didn't do. Any advice would be appreciated

Please read the READ THIS FIRST - **BEFORE POSTING YOUR CASE!** sticky post at the top of this forum.

Please post up the notices you have received in respect of the two debt collection agencies. Just redact your name & address and leave everything else visible.

Let's try and work out where you currently stand and the available options.

There will be no County Court Judgement, CCJ, on your credit report file, so please put your mind at rest.

No CCJs for council PCNs related to parking, bus lanes, moving traffic offences etc, but it could be threatened for any private tickets as far as I know.

So we absolutely MUST see the documents.

@Isaac96

The amount of £515 you mentioned is consistent with a London PCN that has progressed to Bailiff enforcement, where an enforcement visit has already occurred. If this is the case then the bailiffs will be looking for your car so that they can clamp and impound it.

So please post up anything you have from the debt collection company/agents concerning the £515 so we can confirm the situation.  Redact or obscure your name and address but leave all other details visible. Photo(s) will do. Instructions are in the Read This First sticky post I linked to earlier.

And then rapidly follow up with anything from the debt collection company/agents concerning the "over 3k".

You need to get started.

+1.

If you've reported to the police then you should also report to DVLA and your insurer.

Whatever you might think about dealing with paperwork, you must not miss deadlines. The regulated 'council' procedure is more adaptable and fair than the unregulated 'private' business, but none the less you must deal with correspondence.

As most demands would have photos or videos as part of their evidence base, then you should take clear photos of your car, especially of any distinguishing features(make sure they're time stamped).

CDER Group is the one stating over 3k and giving me a chance to respond. Equita is the one that says 280 on letter but is now over 500 due to bailiffs involved. I attached a couple of images which atleast acknowledged the car was cloned, but unable to find the one for the police - so I have contacted them and awaiting a new letter
