Haringey private parking pcn after paying
« on: »
Hello,

I was issued a PCN by Haringey council for contravention 73 "Parked without payment of the parking charge" in Park Road Pools and Fitness car park on 10th December 2024, because I paid a few minutes after I parked and not immediately after I parked. I challenged the PCN providing proof of payment, but I still got issued the  PCN. I have not paid it and it came as £120 (increase from £40, then £80). Given I did pay the parking, what can I do not to pay this PCN? Should I wait to go to court or should I reach out to a different organism? Please advise.
The reason I did not pay immediately as explained on my challenge to Haringey Council, was that I was holding several bags and I had my daughter with me who needed to be at a show at Park Road Pools and Fitness (ballet and tap show). Given I was holding several bags and my daughter, and she was running late, I could not make a call to make the payment from the parking and did it a few minutes later from the centre. Is this considered a contravention given the parking sign says Pay on Arrival and given I actually paid?
Many thanks

This is a council PCN so I have moved this post to the Civil penalty charge notices (Councils, TFL and so on) forum.

To help the users there provide you with the best advice, please read the following thread carefully and provide as much of the information it requests as you are able to: READ THIS FIRST - **BEFORE POSTING YOUR CASE!**, This section is for council, TFL, Dart/Mersey/Tyne etc. cases

You have a charge certificate - did you get a notice to owner and what did you do?

We can't advise without seeing the documents.
