NIP received late

Hello everyone, I received a letter today saying I was doing 37mph in a 30mph zone.

Date of speeding was 25th July 2026.
Date on letter is 3rd September 2026.
Today's date when I got the letter is 7th September.

The date between the alleged offence and date on the letter is over 6 weeks.

I thought there was a 4 week time limit between the offence and date on letter. Is that correct?

The original Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) must be served within 14 days.

Are you the registered keeper? Or is the car leased, for exmaple?
