what does 'No overnight parking' mean exactly?
« on: »
I've seen 'No overnight parking' signs on pay and display posts. Does it mean you can not park there for the whole night, or does it mean you can not park at any time during the night? And what time is considered the start and end of the night?

Thanks!

I presume you mean in private car parks. The only way to know is to read the terms on the signage.

As regards on-street, 'No overnight parking' is not a permitted expression neither is it a permitted variant of a prescribed sign.

Be careful because it's not just private car parks which operate under Ts and Cs, so do those provided by councils.

Presumably the council signs in Bedfordshire are there to stop lorries parking overnight? The parking prohibition signs on the A20 in Kent are time-specific, the >7.5T yellow box with an addition sign 18.40-2400, and 0001-0630.
Bus driving since 1973. My advice, if you have a PSV licence, destroy it when you get to 65 or you'll be forever in demand.

Yes, it's >5t 7pm - 7am to stop fridge units running at night. There are several supermarket distribution centres nearby.
