TfL ULEZ 'horror ' stories
« on: »
Looking at some sites on facebook there is some really bad advice being handed out re ULEZ ticket  dont pay....send letter back  etc etc   but one chap seems to think that the ULEZ signage does not conform with the traffic regs book in that it  the ones illustrated in the manual show a charge, whereas the TfL ones just say ULEZ ahead with no costs mentioned

Now one chap had posted that bailiffs have arrived to remove his vehicle with the assistance of the police, who dragged his wife from the car.He says they are from Marsdens.. Surely the timescale for this to occur  is more than the 6 weeks since the ULEZ inception. A lot of people appear to be getting letter from Debt Collectors of various companies  Is Khan using nefarious tactics or just ignoring the correct and legal route?

ULEZ expanded, not began, in August. In began in 2019, extended to N&S circs. in 2021.

The original ULEZ was implemented in April 2019 so plenty of time to fail to pay & have it taken away. It was recently expanded to cover all 32 of London's boroughs

As I understand it TFL didn't issue any ULEZ PCNs in the expanded part of the zone during the first four weeks of operation. That's from 29th August through 25th September. Instead they sent warning letters.

So the first appeals to the Adjudicator concerning the expanded area are probably only being registered around now.

However for non-compliant vehicle registered with Autopay they did collect the £12.50 daily charges. Not really fair, I suggest.
