Speeding fine when not speeding
« on: March 07, 2024, 09:33:23 pm »
Hi I received a speeding ticket for doing 50 in a 40 zone. I know I wasnít speeding. I was doing 40 and a guy was up my backside. He didnít see the camera and undertook me, speeding past. Is there anything I can do? Will the police believe me? It was in Scotland. Police van at the side of a road.

If what you say is true itís likely the camera had a video stream and this would prove your innocence.

You could start by asking PS for photos from the video, they wonít release evidence so you ask for photos Ďto help confirm the drivers IDí or similar wording, letís see what they show.  Donít delay, it doesnít pause the 28 days in which you must name the driver.

If it is a Section 172 request, you could go down the unsigned route.
