I don’t have the original PCN and I have no recollection of receiving it. I moved a month after the “offence” and didn’t receive any mail regarding this until Oct 2025. The most recent correspondence was last week saying that the claim period had passed and they are now able to submit judgement against me. They are giving me 7 days to pay.
They sent me a text on the 29/12/25 to say that a claim had been issued against me. I logged in to their website to make an enquiry on this date, but haven’t yet received a response. It did say up to 28 days as well which I feel is unreasonable given the time on the claim.
AI states that they shouldn’t have sent claim to old address as they knew my new one, I don’t know how true this is? Also, I’ve confirmed my address on 29/12/25, why did they wait until claim had lapsed before sending the threat to new address?
I’ve worked out where the “offence” took place, and based on the date, I wasn’t the driver. We parked to eat food in the car park as it was empty and there weren’t any clear signage to advise it had closed. No barriers to prevent entry either. There was no visible sign on entry from the way we came in as signs were on other side of the entrance. The writing on the sign for terms is unreadable from the car due to the size of the writing. And without going back there, can’t say how clear the opening times are.
According to AI, I still have time to contest even though the period is passed, and this was confirmed by the CNBC this morning. They told me email the form as soon as possible to get it in before a judgment is made. Would Acknowledgement of Service be enough, or do I need to submit full defence right away? Are there any other steps I need to take?
