Surrey Quays shopping centre
« on: »
Hi all, Im in receipt of this alleged parking fine and would like some assistance on appealing it.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated,  the parking limit is 3 hours and they claim that the vehicle was parked on their site for 3 hrs 42 minutes.

Thanks

Do you dispute this? If so that could of course be the basis of an appeal, if you can produce some evidence that suggests the vehicle was not there for the time claimed.

From a quick look at the notice it would appear to comply with PoFA, enabling them to recover the charge from the keeper.

Other avenues to explore include the signage at the site, if you can demonstrate that it was not suitably prominent etc., do you have any photos?

this alleged parking fine
Details matter, it alleges no such thing and in fact states the contrary, that it is a parking charge notice, a notice of a charge for parking, aka an invoice or a bill.
There are motorists who have been scammed and those who are yet to be scammed!

Ok, so the fact that it is a parking charge notice what is the best way of appealing this as I am the registered keeper

Thanks

The questions I posed in reply #1 might help to identify any viable routes of appeal.
  • Do you dispute the time the vehicle was on-site?
  • Do you have any photos of the signs?

I dont dispute the time parked and I dont have any pics, but I guess this is something I can get from goole maps or I will drive down there today to take pics and post.  Probably the latter would be better.  I remember it used to be 4 hours free parking, not sure when it changed.

Google Maps usually doesn't provide suitable quality to be able to read the content of the signs.
