Hello all.

I sent a SAR to Euro Car Parks to obtain the original PCN as I discarded the one I was sent back in 2021 and they have responded saying that they require me to send to them a proof of ownership of the vehicle i.e V5 logbook and a photo ID.

Am I obliged to send them proof of ownership of the vehicle and photo ID? A vehicle logbook isn't a proof of ownership but it is a registered keeper document.

I cannot see anything stated on the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) website regarding submitting a vehicle's details etc when applying for a SAR request.

Would a utility bill statement be adequate for a SAR request and is sending photo ID compulsory for this?

I made the SAR request because I have spoken to the landowners explaining to them the unfair issuing of the PCN and they have agreed to assist me on my behalf to get the PCN cancelled if I send in the original PCN. I have a letter from QDR solicitors with the PCN number printed on it but I don't want to send that to the landowners incase they reply saying they cannot assist as it's gone to recovery stage, if it has or it's just a scare letter.

I have attached a PDF of what Euro Car Parks sent to me in their response. Is it legit?

They don't say that they require photo ID. The letter says they require proof of identity (which is true, they need to be sure they're giving the right data to the right person), and proof of ownership (which as you say, a V5C is not).

I wouldn't send photo ID, but you'll need to send something. A utility bill and a copy of the V5C should be enough.
