We stopped advising to ignore private parking tickets when keeper liability was introduced by Schedule 4 to the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 ("POFA").

If you deal with this claim properly, you should easily defeat it.  First, use the claim number and password on the claim form to file your acknowledgment of service ("AOS") online.  Do it as soon as possible, even though the deadline is 8 January.

You will then have until 22 January to prepare and file your defence.  If you file it online via the MCOL website as per the AOS, you can rely on the court to send a copy to the Claimant.  If you use the template defence available over on MSE you will need to email it to the court and also post it to the Claimant's solicitors unless they've provided you with an email address for service of documents because it's too long to fit in the box on the MCOL website.  Here's the MSE link _  https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6108153/template-defence-to-adapt-for-all-parking-cases-with-added-admin-dra-costs-edited-31st-july-2023#latest

Whether your case is more suited to the long MSE defence or a short one that will fit in the MCOL webform will depend in part on documents you haven't shown us.  If you still have the original PCN, show us both sides (redacting your name, address, vehicle number and any reference number but leaving in all dates).  If you've lost the original PCN, work on the basis of the long MSE defence.
