wrong registration number entered
« on: »
Good morning

I am trying to help a friend who parked in an ecp and entered the wrong vrn. Before asking me for help she did appeal to ecp, this is the letter she has received back.

The letter seems to give 2 contradicting options, to either send a screenshot of her ticket (which she did with the first appeal) or to go to POLPLA, what do you suggest please

She could try writing to them at the website suggested, pointing out that she did send a copy of the ticket with the appeal, and re-attaching a copy there.

What sort of error did she make? Was it one wrong character, or a completely wrong/no reg entered?

Thank you

this is an example

her true reg is AB12 CDE

and she entered C12 ADE

This should fall under the scope of 'keying errors' - take a look at section 17 of the BPA's Code of Practice (there's a link in my signature at the bottom). This is likely to fall under the banner of a Major Keying Error - if she sends a copy of the ticket purchased they should offer her the option of paying £20 to close the matter.
