Private land parking charge
« on: »
I am seeking assistance and guidance regarding parking charges that have been issued incorrectly. Despite being informed that my vehicle was added to the permit list, as evidenced by a screenshot of an email confirmation, I have received over 15 parking charges totalling over £3,000. These charges were sent to my old address, unbeknownst to me until they reached the debt collector.
This situation has become incredibly stressful, and I am unsure of what steps to take next. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

You'll have to help us to help you. At the moment, we've almost no information to go off. As a starting point:
  • What parking company is this?
  • Exactly how many charges, and exactly how much are they claiming is owed?
  • What is the situation regarding the land? Is it a rented a parking space, is this is workplace car park, where the driver lives, or what?
  • Since becoming aware of the £3k worth of charges, have you spoke to the person/organisation who claimed you were entitled to park there? If so, what has their response been? What is their relationship to the land?

As a semi-related aside - if the notices went to your old address, this suggests that your car's V5C had not been updated at the material time - have you updated it since? If not, do this asap.
