Parking ticket whilst on business at a company
« on: »
Just wondering what my rights are here, I'm a gardener and someone messaged me a few months ago on a job website asking for a quote for some gardening work at a cinema complex, they sent me the address and I went there to look around and gather the quote details, I parked my van in the empty car park, as it was daytime and the cinema was closed, I spoke to the deputy manager whilst there to discuss the work to be done. I sent off the quote (didn't get the job though). I saw the parking signs but it didn't really cross my mind that I needed to pay to stay there as I was technically in my mind on business for this company. Now a few months later I have received a solicitors letter (letter before claim)
I have reached out to the company (the cinema) in question but they have said that as there was ample signage there they can't help me. It didn't occur to me that I would be expected to pay to park there whilst on business for them, obviously I will from now on, but is there a way to appeal this? Seems pretty unfair to me

Thanks

Post up the PCN for viewing front and back
Do not under any circumstances provide driver details. You must respond to the letter normally within 14=days asking for all documents they are going to rely on in the event of proceedings. As a result you will be offered the best advice,

Do you own the van or is it on lease?
