Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice regarding a private parking fine that has unfortunately escalated.
I parked in a car park run by Euro Parking Services while I went in for a coffee. The car park required customers to enter their vehicle registration into a terminal inside the shop, which I forgot to do. I later received several letters but, due to personal circumstances at the time, I didn’t deal with them.
The matter has now been passed to Gladstones Solicitors, and a County Court Judgment (CCJ) has been issued against me for £490. I understand this was a default judgment as I didn’t respond to the court claim.
As far as i can see the only way to challenge this now is to apply for a set aside (judgment to be cancelled), but the court fee is around £330 plus, which is extremely high and obviously a way of making people not want to appeal
I dont want the baliffs knocking on my door if I refuse to pay.
What are options??
If anyone has experience with similar cases or can offer guidance on my options, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
