Free Traffic Legal Advice

newbie here, so not sure if I am doing the right thing but

I had a letter from DCB legal in September 2024 saying that I had a £282 fine pending from August 2022!!!
never had no letters from eurocar parks originally. nothing. just now a debt letter saying I owe all this money.
I got a letter also from HM courts & Tribunal acknowledging my defence (which I had sent after receiving  the letters)  but surprise surprise, they didn't accept my side of the story.
So I asked for it to go to the mediation service.

Just got off the phone to the mediation service and was told that Eurocar parks don't hold any evidence or digital proof of sending letters out. so basically they send these letters out but don't have any backup to say they have receipts of them being sent.
So I said, so how can they say they have confirmed that all the correct corrispondancde at the time was sent out in the correct way and time to my home address?
how can they be 100% certain that a letter(s) were sent to my address.

the mediation last responded with, they send so many letters out there isn't a way to keep track of each one that is sent out.?? so how do they even have a case to stand on?

its there say against mine, without any back up?

Im told if we don't come to an agreement, it will go to court which I will have to attend.

can anyone advise? or is it too late

Follow the instructions above and then show us the Particulars of Claim (PoC) in the N1SDT claim form you received. Also, we need to see precisely what you put in as your defence. We don't want a summary, we need to see exactly what you put.

It's a pity you didn't come here before you responded but we are where we are and you will receive the best advice. The mediation is always a waste of time and you should not have tried to argue your case there. There is no judge or lawyers involved and it is not a part of the judicial process and has no bearing on anything going forward.

You argument about no evidence of letters being sent is a valid one but would need to be argued in your Witness Statement much later in the process and it will depend on what you actually put in your defence.
