Hi - I received a Parking Charge Notice yesterday in respect of a driver using my vehicle to access the drop off zone at T3 without making a valid payment.
Can I check the following text, taken from another similar case, is still good to send? Much appreciated!
Dear Sirs,
I have received your Parking Charge Notice (Ref: ______) for vehicle registration mark _______, in which you allege that the driver has incurred a parking charge. I am appealing as the registered keeper of the vehicle. There is no obligation for me to name the driver and I will not be doing so. I note from your correspondence that you are not seeking to hold me liable as the registered keeper, under Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 ("The Act").
Even if you were seeking to do so, as the Heathrow Airport Drop Off Zones are not "relevant land" as defined by The Act you are unable to recover the charge from me, the keeper.
I am therefore unable to help you further with this matter, and look forward to your confirmation that the charge has been cancelled. If you choose to decline this appeal, you must issue a POPLA code.
Yours,
That should be suitable, but it's hard to advise on the content of an appeal without seeing the parking charge notice you are appealing against. If you could show us, that would be useful.
Thanks - the appeal you suggested will work fine.
I was 99% sure it would, but it's always good to check the notice received just to check they've not updated their boilerplate etc. (not that it'll ever be relevant land)
Notice cancelled - many thanks!
It's happened again...
Wording of letter from APCOA is precisely the same as previously (although that one is longer visible, above).
Assume on that basis, I can submit exactly the same appeal as 6 months ago?
Charge cancelled. Thanks again.
Have now received another APCOA parking charge notice but this time in respect of the drop off zone at Stansted Airport.
Presume the same wording can be applied again (as per Heathrow)?
Thanks!
You presume correctly Chips. If it's an airport drop off and it's APCOA, that template should do the trick!
