 Good Morning,

I have to say finding this forum has really helped my mood

To explain.  My wife and I stayed in an air BNB in for a few days while we were house hunting in Leeds.  There was a manual that came with the AIR BNB room that inculded a part asking us to register our car registration with the property.  It should be noted that while we were there we were reffered to as residents.  And therefore we stayed in the resident carpark, just adjacent to the building.

I completed the online form to register our car.

Then a few days later I recive 3 PCNs, for parking in the resident car park.  Below is just one of them but it identical to the other two.

I immedately contested it, saying we were residents at the AIR BNB and we had completed an online form.

I got no response, and then on the 22nd of september they reffered it to Debt Recovery Plus.  We have since moved house, so we only got the follow up letter a few days ago.

I foolishly rang the collection agency, who just tried to intimidate me into paying.

The thing is in each of these cases.  I recived no recipt email of me registering my car, or contesting it in the first place.  So either they didnt send it, or it went into spam and has now been deleted.

If you need a picture of the signage I can pop over to the location at some point and get it for you.

Thank you in advance.

I am just going to bump this for visiblity.

Also my  wife found a confirmation email from the Air BNB host to say I car registration had been registered to park with them when we booked.

What would my next steps be?

What does the back of the NtK say? There is absolutely no mention of any alleged contravention on the front of the NtK you have shown us.

What EXACTLY was in the appeal that was sent to the operator (not so) Smart Parking?

(Plan A) What has the AirBnB owner said after you complained? If they are the contractor of (not so) Smart Parking, then they should be able to get them cancelled. I am sure they would not like to receive negative reviews from you about the third party invoices guests will receive from a firm of ex-clampers if they are guests there.

What you MUST do immediately, is send a Data Rectification Notice to (not so) Smart Parking's DPO, instructing them to update their records with the keepers current address for service and to erase any other older addresses they may have on file. The highlighted words are there for a reason and should be used.

Ignore any debt recovery letters. Debt collectors are powerless to do anything except to try and intimidate the low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree into paying out of ignorance and fear. As you found out, you should never, ever, EVER, try and communicate with. useless debt collector, especially by phone. A phone call is not worth the paper it isn't written on.

Thank you I shall do as such immediately.

I will get an image of the back of it stright away
