You aim for the top. Google is your friend and you find out CEO details and contact info. Let them get their minions to handle the complaint.
Maybe you let them now that you will not be patronising their business in future if it comes with an additional invoice from an ex-clamper. Let them know that you will be advising all your family, friends and acquaintances about their unreasonable behaviour. They should worry more about their bottom line.
I have written to James Bailey who is the executive director of Waitrose. Email below. lets see if this gets any more support
Dear Sir,
I am writing to escalate a frustrating issue that arose following a recent shopping trip to the Waitrose branch in Buckhurst Hill. A Parking Charge Notice (PCN) was issued by Britannia Parking, who manage the car park associated with your store.
The visit involved a genuine purchase at Waitrose, and the attached credit card statement serves as proof of this transaction. Unfortunately, the “no-receipt” option was selected during checkout to save paper, so no printed receipt is available. However, the statement clearly demonstrates that the individual using the car park was a paying Waitrose customer.
Despite reaching out to both the store manager and Waitrose Customer Service for assistance, I have been disappointed by their refusal to help. As a result, I feel it is unfortunate to have to escalate this matter to your level to seek a fair resolution.
The car park is exclusively for Waitrose customers, and it is disheartening to receive a £95 fine for a minor overstay due to unforeseen circumstances. This penalty feels excessive and entirely unreasonable, especially as it targets genuine and loyal customers who actively support your business.
As Waitrose retains oversight of Britannia Parking’s management of this car park, I urge you to intervene and have this PCN cancelled. Your assistance would not only resolve this matter but also reaffirm Waitrose’s reputation as a brand that values its customers.
If this issue cannot be resolved, I will unfortunately have to reconsider my decision to patronize Waitrose in the future. Additionally, I would feel compelled to inform my family, friends, and acquaintances about this unreasonable treatment of paying customers and the risk of being issued an “invoice” simply for shopping at your store.
I hope you will address this matter promptly and fairly. Please find attached both the PCN and the credit card statement for your reference. I trust you will take the necessary steps to ensure this situation is resolved amicably.
Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your response.
Regards,
