TfL ULEZ
« on: »
On facebook there are several sites that are concerned with the tickets now being sent out

some advice is on rather thin ice

Just ignore  !!!!

It is not  mutaully agrred contract

Stuff like that

Whilst theredoesnt not seem to be a lot of  threads on the forum ,yet.  Could a sticky be put up advising the average Joe on what the difference od between debt Collectors and baliffs, ( some  poster are suggesting that county court proceedings will soon be enacted, yet the names inolved appear to be the usual suspects

I think it would help them to get it sorted  before the charges increase and keep their costs to a minimum

On chap has received a ticket stating the location as Gt West Road  , i have asked him if that is all is says  as he MIGHT be able to contest under vague location

Any thoughts on how TfL can be contested on this and possibly others be contested to stop the site being flooded

Anyone who cops a ULEZ PCN can come into the Council forum and ask for advice which will be freely given.
Generally it will be good advice and there are knowledgeable people on here that will correct if needed.

It will not include gems like ignore, contacts terms or even invoking the Magna Carta.
It may well suggest paying it quick is best option but sometimes that has to be said.

Best will in the world, we cannot prevent people following dodgy advice on places like Facebook and unfortunately many people take anyting posted on Twitface as gospel, ignoring the golden rule as stated by Abraham Lincoln....all that is posted on the internet is not true.

A sticky generally outlining the basic differences in relevant legislation would soon expand to encyclopedic size and not be read by those who favour their information in 30 second TikToc bites.

It should also be remembered that each case revolves on its own merits, general information, even if detailed and correct may well lead people astray.

One guy who i  told to come on here, queried the advice as ,as he put it, 'No such thing as a free lunch'  I am doing my best to point out the error of his thinking

Funny you say that, I had one case where TFL had to pay me £95 in costs, that paid for lunch and several rounds of drinks  :)

That being said, this site has featured in the telegraph so maybe find the article and refer your friend to that.
I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.

You could probably find a host of specialist forums that offer free advice or discussion on virtually any subject under the sun.
That's the good bit about the tinternet.

Parking lore may be a niche subject but just as people take up kite building or colouring books as a hobby, geeks on here took up parking problems and are willing to share their knowledge.
Most of the frequent flyers know what they are talking about, some will go the extra mile and spend more then their time online, they are happy to take on cases, represent people, none charge.

It's really up to your man, he can be cynical, decide it's all a scam without looking or try opening a thread and seeing what comes of it, nobody will ask for payment, nobody will be wheeling and dealing, just advice.
He can get advice on Twitface or down the pub, if he prefers advice from there, hey ho, it's his choice
