We have a GP surgery and a pharmacy that share the same car park. The GP surgery has a number‑plate system for parking, but the pharmacy doesn’t. I was collecting a prescription from the pharmacy, but they were very busy. As a result, I ended up parked for around 20 minutes and have now been issued a £100 parking fine, even though the car park only allows 10 minutes of free parking.
The pharmacy has written a letter confirming that I was collecting a prescription, and we posted this to the appeals team. However, two weeks later I received a reminder saying I still need to pay the £100. I’ve now submitted the appeal online and included a photo of the pharmacy’s letter.
How likely is it that the fine will be cancelled?
