The Flame Pit / PCN settled - can i edit my post now?
« on: May 06, 2026, 04:15:56 pm »
Hi, i recently paid the PCN as the appeal was rejected. Came here to see if i could edit the post and delete the PCN number and license plate only but i can't edit the post. Will the post eventually be deleted at least?

Thanks

Yes it did seem like that would be the case! Tried my best, I guess i'll just get my dad to pay up, thank you for the help and replies  :)

Unfortunately, though expected, the PCN appeal was rejected. Funny thing is they put

"On this occasion only, we will allow you another opportunity to pay this PCN at the
reduced amount of £80.00. I must however advise you that we are not required to do
this by law. This offer will not be re-offered for this PCN"

Am i meant to be grateful? Because they offered it in the first place  ::)

It's been a whole month exactly since i sent the representation and haven't heard back since, but got the automatic reply for confirmation. Is this normal?

I see, i'll just submit my representation and hope for the best. If not, i'll just pay the fine. Thank you!

Thank you for the reply. I'm not sure whether they used navigation, but i assume they did and would've definitely used google maps. I've just checked on google maps and it allows a route through this street without mentioning restrictions so it is possible they simply relied on it.

Hi all, first time posting here and was signposted here from the helpful people running a similar operation on the MSE forum. This is about a PCN a family member got and I wasn't there so i know as much as you would. Unfortunately, they are on holiday but if necessary i will ask them for further information (they would like me to appeal if possible however).

Date / time of contravention: mid-December 2025 around 7pm

Almost similar thread i found on here

Here's what i've been thinking (anything and everything) to potentially use if i could appeal (because £80 for this is hefty!):

- It is dark so seeing the sign is harder (they are in their 60s) and they were focused on the tight manoeuvre
- It is a car bought recently (September 2025) and have only driven it a couple times and with it being wide it was also a concern when getting through the narrowing.

- We aren't londoners and not used to these types of prohibitions on side roads (it looks like a regular residential road past the traffic narrowing)

Thank you
