Private parking tickets / Re: Incomplete car registration
« on: March 27, 2026, 10:58:41 am »
I have this prepared if you can advise if it is sufficient,  my document does show the parking ticket, PDT showing partial reg number and bank statement

Dear Sir/Madam,
Re: Napier Parking PCN Ref
BW Legal Reference:
I am responding to your recent Letter of Claim.
Please find attached my formal response along with a complete evidence pack demonstrating that:
•   The required parking tariff in full;
•   The PDT machine log shows the partial VRM “FP”, timestamped exactly at the time my vehicle entered the car park;
•   A Napier Parking ticket, confirming payment and expiry time;
•   My bank statement confirms the corresponding £1.30 payment to “NAPIER PARKING LTD”.
The only issue was a minor keying error, which is recognised in industry guidance as requiring cancellation or, at most, a nominal administrative fee. Pursuing £100–£170 in such circumstances is disproportionate and unreasonable.
I request that your client now discontinues this baseless claim.
If proceedings are issued despite clear evidence that the tariff was paid, I will seek a strike out and costs for unreasonable conduct under CPR 27.14(2)(g).
Please confirm that this matter is now closed.
Kind regards,

Credit card statement showing payment made.

Hi,  I have received a letter of claim following a parking issue where the FULL number plate was not registered on the parking machine or ticket.
Appeal registered with Napier Parking - then dismissed as they state machine was working
Subsequent apeak to IAS also dismissed as they state contract broken as incomplete registration.
Copies of ticket purchased and bank statement were included in all correspondance.
Now letter of claim issued
Images of letters attached.
Help with this would be appreciated.

Private parking tickets / Incomplete car registration
« on: January 06, 2026, 02:12:00 pm »
Hi, Last year I received a Private Parking charge notice from Napier Parking.  It stated i had not purchased a ticket.
Luckily I had the parking ticket.  I appealed to them with a copy of the parking ticket and copy of bank statement showing i had paid, they came back stating i had not adhered to their contract and had not entered the full car registration.  The ticket showed only the first 2 letters of the reg.

I'm 100% sure i had entered the correct reg but obvioulsy cannot be sure some months later.   they offered to reduce the fine, but i was sure i was in the right and agasint an appeal, surely common sense would provail.  I appealed to the IAS, but again they dismissed my appeal on the same grounds.

I have now received a letter from BW Legal wanting to help me settle the £170.

At no time have i admitted been the driver of the vehicle.  any help would be appreciated as i'm sure this case should be dropped.
