Private parking tickets / Horizon Parking

My son parked in the Easyhotel Oxford car park where it has free parking for Majestic. He bought some wine from Majestic, but didn't have his registration scanned. Hence he has got a ticket. He has proof of purchase, but will they likely let him off?
