Me again - sorry!

I sent an email as suggested by your helpful replies. I didn't receive any acknowledgement or response, however this week in the post I have received a "notice of intention to instruct solicitors" from TNT collections. It mentions the details of the PCN again and then has the following https://imgur.com/a/ClxoHVI. I have also received a similar text from TNT (as when I first appealed I left my phone number). I think I have done my part in terms of contacting the parking company - do I need to contact TNT as well?

Thanks

Dear all,
thanks in advance for your help. Last year my local gym sited in an east London industrial estate introduced parking restrictions upon request from the council, managed by "Private Parking Solutions". They provided me with a paper parking permit which has a starting date of 27 September and has been on display in my car.

Last October I received a PCN for "not clearly displaying a parking ticket". The pictures taken on the day (and visible online) were of really poor quality. I discussed this with the gym manager who advised me to contest the PCN and provide them with evidence of my parking ticket. I did as advised on the 1st November and received an automatic confirmation that the appeal had been submitted.

Four months pass and I receive no further communications from PPS. Today I received a letter from "TNC Collections" saying that I have ignored previous correspondance, and threatening further action. See this https://imgur.com/a/2yAo4Wa I am not entirely sure how to navigate this, whether ignoring it vs calling them up to try and contest this further would be of any use.

I am grateful for any help, thanks!

I called the local store (https://stores.sainsburys.co.uk/0019/locksbottom) - there were a few options but was eventually to get through who I believe is a store manager. I explained my situation, they took down my PCN number and plate and they were able to cancel it. I did not get any emails to confirm this but I trust/hope it has been resolved. I certainly won't be chasing them :P

I called the Sainsbury's and to my surprise they were very helpful and managed to cancel the fine from their end. Thank you so much!

Private parking tickets / Euro Car Park PCN - hospital/sainsbury's car park
« on: February 24, 2025, 03:01:19 pm »
Dear all,
This is my first time posting so apologies if any mistakes.

I am an employee of the Princess Royal University Hospital, in Farborough. I pay for staff permit for a car park that is managed by Euro Car Parks. Adjacent to the hospital there is a large Sainsbury where I have been told we are allowed to park as an overspill if the main car park is full. Note that the Sainsbury car park is also managed by Euro Car Parks.

Back in January I found myself precisely in that situation and received the following PCN

"Breach of Terms and Conditions:
The vehicle was parked in a designated permit area without an authorised permit"

I sent an appeal explaining that I do pay for a permit in the hospital car park and was under the impression that I was allowed to park there. I received the following rejection

"Having carefully considered the evidence provided by you we have decided to reject your appeal for the following reasons:
•   Please find photographic evidence attached.
•   It is clearly stated on the signage that this is a permit holder’s area.
•   There was no valid permit displayed in your vehicle, therefore the notice was issued correctly
and remains payable.
•   Please be advised that you have parked in an area designated for the Sainsbury’s permit holder. "

In discussing this with colleagues, it later emerged that there is a “white” designated area and a “yellow” designated area and we are only allowed to park in the white. The signage does not specify that that is the case

I have attached a couple of pictures for context - showing some white and yellow signs.
My question is whether it is worth appealing to POPLA on the basis that the signage is unclear and I did believe that I was well within my right within the yellow zone as I do in fact have a permit?

Many thanks
Best,
Msp
