In June 2024 I received a notice informing me I was going to receive 6 points (speeding), the first camera flashed me and not even 50m after I got flashed again.
Just to be completely sure were these two within the same journey? Detected speeding twice only 50m apart but still treated as two offences. Presumably "m" is metres, not miles.

3 - I have just exchanged contracts on first home and will complete it next week, so due to moving in two weeks, what is the best action to take with my licence and also with the police? Do you notify them if I have  not had any tickets?
Once you have access to the new place, set up redirection on your address as well going through changing your address on everything.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't see the signs, they were just off a heavily congested roundabout. They were 75cm at the time, I have some photographic and video evidence of this.
Let's see the photos.

If the force are denying the existence of footage how can they use it to prosecute the aledged offence? Would a magistrate care if footage the force exhibited footage they had stated didn't exist?
I don't think they should use evidence that's not been disclosed. But they don't need video anyway, the evidence can be statements from the police officers.

On August 15, I was caught driving 26 MPH in a 20 MPH speed limit. Received NIP in early September. Charges were contrary sections 84 and 89(1) of RTRA 1984, and Schedule 2 of RTOA 1988.

Completed sections 1, 2, and 5 of NIP and returned to CPS by mail. Provided driving licence details. Licence was a standard UK one, issued by DVLA, so did not send licence or copy as instructed in NIP. Paid fine online (acdp.met.police.uk). Didn't hear anything so assumed that was sorted and should drive more responsibly.
Did you receive two things? The NIP/Request for driver details. Then a separate Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty sent only after driver details had been received.

The way you recount it makes it sound like it was done in one go.

Even more important is what if after the stop line, there are no traffic lights after the junction,  How is one to know if the lights have changed?
If you're past the stop line, does it matter?

..
Do i need to respond to the NIP confirming i was the driver at the time of offence?
...
Yes you need to do so even if the NIP was served out of time.

Thanks

In terms of applying law to facts, if I can present issues with Royal Mail services (evidenced by Citizens Advice Bureau, MPs calling for improved services, reviews of failings from Ofcom etc), is there an idea on how this would be viewed by the court as a defence?
Do those relate specifically to your address or your area? The plural "MPs" makes it look as if they are more general concerns.

I was driving a standard size van and as far as I am aware the speed limit for those is the same as cars?
Not relevant for this case but it would be worth your while checking this for the future. I'm not sure what you mean by "standard size" but Transits and similar have lower limits than cars.

The nuclear option is not needed. I had call from the workshop manager saying they'd just got the car back from the bodyshop, fixed. I collected it this afternoon. Clearly I did right not to take the car when they were pressing me, and I guess they got fed up with a dented car in their yard and applied some pressure on th bodyshop.

With hindsight I should have been more pushy right at the start, then eased off if things seemed to be going well. It's much more difficult starting off easygoing then trying to harden up later on.

Just need to close it off with my insurance now there's no chance of any sort of claim arising.

Not yet, to both of those questions.

Just now the options seem to be (a) further attempts to get the garage to speed things up (b) let them get on with it, taking however long it takes. Or (c) the nuclear option would be to recover the car and arrange the repair myself, obviously in the hope that I can reclaim the cost from someone or other. Will need to press on starting with (a) on Monday.

We're not left stranded. But it means making more journeys in the Defender which uses about twice as much fuel and is a bit slower. Is that the "more convenient car" referred to?

so you're not without a car, is it of a similar class ie not given you a Fiat 500 in place of your Range Rover or estate that is a necessity?
Functionally similar. It's a Hyundai somthing, very much smaller than say a Fiesta. So a partial replacement that can't be used for some journeys that we would have made in the Focus.

I think that the consensus here is that you should start with the full story rather than drip feeding. Not just you.
I'm probably guilty of that when dealing with the garage as well. With hindsight I should have pressed for third party details right from the start, rather than letting them get on with it. And should have pressed harder for timescales and details.

Sequence was ..
25 Sep in for mechanical work
07 Oct called for update, told about damage, awaiting bodyshop quote, girl said the manager had third party details in case I needed them.
08 Oct no update, still waiting bodyshop
10 Oct told repair organised, parts expected shortly
18 Oct update, bodyshop can't book car in until 18th Nov, garage wants me to return loan car, collect our car and bring it back on the 18th (garage had fitted mirror to make it driveable)

It was only after that call, when I started looking at whether I could get it done quicker, that I was made aware that "the lady" had already paid.

The outcome of the last call was that I hang onto the loan car and they keep ours until it can be fixed. It seems to me that accepting the car back would guarantee the repair wouldn't start until 18th Nov, and once it was off the garage's hands the date might continue to slip further.

I should mention that this is an old Ford Focus that we don't specially care about, although I wouldn't want to be driving it around with a dented door even if road legal. If it had been my other half's Landrover we'd have both been all over it from the start, inspecting the damage, demanding it be done by approved repairer etc.

sorry if I've missed it but have they given you a courtesy car?
Yes, I got a loan car when ours was in for the original mechanical work.
