Stopped where prohibited- Red route

I dropped a son's friend whose dad has a disabled badge, it was less than a minute, then I received this through the post. Before stopping I checked, and it was OK for badge holders.
This is not the first time, I recall something similar happened couple of years ago.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to post pictures of the PCN, but I couldn't, I will try again, in the meantime any assistance is appreciated

Please review the READ THIS FIRST post at the top of the forum for advice on posting documents.

Let's see what you received in the post. Redact your name and address and leave everything else visible, in particular the PCN number and the vehicle registration number.

So what is the link here ? Your friend's dad must be involved in the journey, like you were also dropping the dad off, or were to pick him up after stopping there.

Yes, but the camera could not pick it, its too far and facing the opposite way, I think tfl are just trying it.

So a BB badge was displayed but the BB holder was not involved in the journey. In fact the BB holder could have been in Australia at the time.  So why do you think the BB give you an exemption ? Yes, this forum is here to support those who receive PCNs but surely you have to admit the BB holder had no part in your journey and subsequent stop at the address ?

OP, from the Blue Badge Rights etc. booklet for England:

The badge is for your use and benefit only. It must only be displayed if you are travelling in the vehicle as a driver or passenger, or if someone is collecting you or dropping you off and needs to park at the place where you are being collected or dropped.

Don’t allow other people to use the badge to do something on your behalf, such as shopping or collecting something for you.

You must never give the badge to friends or family to allow them to park for free, even if they are visiting you.

You should not use the badge to allow non-disabled people to take advantage of the benefits while you sit in the car.

Having said this, if the vehicle was parked and a BB was displayed but according to you not visible to the cameras then, given that someone alighted, it begs the question whether TfL just issue PCNs on the off-chance and wait for keepers(who of course might not have been driving) to challenge with evidence.

There has been a procedural impropriety on part of enforcement authority.

Apologies, I'm trying to post pictures, but somehow I need to ask admin.

I went back and I think I made a mistake, the sign says this:

RED ROUTE
No stopping
Mon - Sat
8am -7pm
Except 10 am -1pm
Loading 20 min
Disabled 20 min


Apologies...but I only stopped for a min or less...

Is it worth the appeal, or am I done.

I'm trying to post pics. But again it's says too big/ contact admin.

Apologies for the mistake, I recall reading the sign, but clearly I didn't do it properly.

There's no exemption for alighting (setting down a passenger) on a RR.

And you were on a RR which prohibited stopping at 9.51.

Without seeing the PCN or video all I can suggest is to make reps based upon arriving at the station earlier than anticipated (how far had you travelled?) (not that the train left at 9.55 or whatever because that's premeditated) but rather than drive around simply to mark time you stopped momentarily to set down your passenger.

Others may have other ideas.

@H C Andersen you're wrong, there is an exemption to drop off blue badge holders on a red route.

@cp, I can see reference to BB in TfL info but the BB booklet makes no such reference. Would you know whether this simply a policy of TfL or is this underpinned by a statutory provision?
