Add: the warning sign is also proscribed by law. Regulation 6 and Schedule 18 TSRGD 2016.

I REGRET THAT, FOR THE PRESENT, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY MORE CASES AS A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE LONDON TRIBUNALS. THIS IS FOR BOTH PERSONAL AND LEGAL REASONS. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME UNLESS YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR THREAD ON THE FORUM AND I WILL ATTEMPT TO GIVE ADVICE.

There are "known knowns" which we may never have wished to know. This applies to them. But in the field the idea that there are also "unknown unknowns" doesn't apply as they hide in the aleatoric lottery. I know this is true and need to be prepared knowing the "unknown unknowns" may well apply.

Updated the draft to say that Term Time sign is proscribed and submitted the appeal. Thank you @Hippocrates!

I will update once I hear back.

Do you have evidence of the Term Time Only sign - today I noticed that Redbridge had covered up the Term Time Only signs for 2 of the "Schools Streets" that I almost drove through. Though they should probably rename them to "Not So Schools Streets" now.

Does the TMO specify Term Time only?

The TMO states the times in detail. They close the signs during holidays as they are allowed.

Is there any update on how this turned out? I've just been issued a PCN notice on the same road and place, as I was taking my mum for a 9am blood test at the clinic.

If you read the thread esp. Reply#16, you will see that the  the appeal has only just been submitted.

You need to start your own thread (see here for guidance -
https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/    )

Begin by posting up a brief account of the circumstances and posting up all sides of the PCN (only redact yr name & address, leave all else in).

The TMO states the times in detail. They close the signs during holidays as they are allowed.

Does this mean that they're not enforceable over the school holidays or that they now can - now that all "Term Time Only" signs have been covered up. The rest of it is still on display.

It depends on what the TMO says.

So I have 2 TMOs which I will share once I get home - but in short, it says prescribed hours - nothing about term time only. Therefore, with Redbridge now covering up the words "Term Time Only", it means that these restrictions are likely to be in place every day - including Christmas Day, Easter Monday.

I do know that not all signs have been removed as some still had the words "Term Time Only" displayed - but I think these will be covered up in a matter of days/weeks.

Today, I received the notice of rejection from Redbridge Council on my PCN appeal. See attached.

The letter says: "If drivers are unaware of when term times fall then they should not enter the area and should source an alternative route".

I had raised two other points on signage not being visible early enough for drivers turning right and signs covered by trees. But they did not respond specifically to those.

@Hippocrates - Seeking your guidance on the above.

They have not re-offered the discount, so it is now a total no-brainer to take them to London Tribunals, as the penalty remains the same and there are no additional costs. Signs like this have won appeals in the recent past.
