Hi there,
I do not have an electric vehicle but parked in an EV bay on 25th February. The only reason I thought it could be an EV bay on parking was because of what looked like charging ports but there was no information on them to say what they were. I took pictures when I parked (and I paid for standard parking, via an app for the time I was there) because it was not clear to me that these were EV bays as there was nothing on the floor or signage around. I also saw other cars which weren't charging and weren't electric vehicles parked in these bays too. When I returned to my vehicle, I had a PCN on the windscreen (as did other vehicles around me!)
I appealed, sending photos to the council stating the above and they have since replied and rejected my appeal with the following photos (which I took) and comments. I still feel that the signage is not clear, stating these are specifically EV bays (every other car park I've seen, the the EV bays are very obvious with signage and the bay markings painted differently). I also feel, it's certainly not clear that there would be a penalty to park in these bays. Before I pay the reduced fee I just wanted a second opinion if anyone could be so kind to take a look? Thanks so much in advance. I've attached links to photos of the correspondence and a word doc (and the location from google maps).
