Passing on liability help
« on: »
Sorry if it’s in the wrong place. I’m renting out my vehicle to someone I know. He’s got a ticket which he wants to appeal however as it’s in my name. Insured under his name

I’d like to get it right so does anyone have a template I can use for a hire agreement which the council will accept as liability

You can't get out of a PCN by creating a backdated hire agreement which didn't exist at the time of the alleged offence.

Having said that, this probably is the right place, but at the moment you've given us nothing to go on, we don't know which authority and jurisdiction this is in. Start by reading the post titled  "READ THIS FIRST - **BEFORE POSTING YOUR CASE!**" which tells you what you need to post to get advice.

As previous posters. If it's someone you know, simplest route may be for you to submit reps/appeal on his behalf and he pays the penalty or reimburses you if unsuccessful.

We can potentially assist with challenging if given more to go on.

Including 'ticket' for what? Different contraventions and offences are governed by different legislation.

If it's pre-NTO- ie it was stuck to the car and you haven't had anything through the post yet, the driver can appeal.

If it's reached NTO stage (ie it's been posted to you) you need to deal with it. So... he could write the appeal and you could post it in your name.

I mean, still abide by the rules and post the PCN
