Contrav 52JM Federal Road, Ealing
« on: »
I received a PCN for the alleged traffic contravention of 52JM Failing to comply with Prohibition on certain types of vehicles(motor vehicles) on Federal Road (Perivale Ealing). I am not from the area. The signs were not very clear on the day in question, also the driving conditions were very poor. I was raining heavy and the signage was very confusing. Also the tree branches were covering the the signage. The images the council has sent/uploaded are not very clear either. It looks like from this forum that many people have fall foul while driving on this road What are my chances of success?

I just got a PCN for this road too and so am here trying to make sense of it.

I plan to study the signage more closely too.  This might help in fighting it and may also help me spot such traps in future.

I looked at Waze to see whether that might help in routing around the trap.  Waze has restrictions for the road but with the original timing of 8:15 - 9:15 and 14:45 - 15:45 Mon to Fri.  Now that it has been changed to 24 x 7, I suppose Waze will happily lead more of us into this trap.  I looked to see if I could edit the restriction but that's restricted to advanced editors.  It's exasperating...

For help and advice with your case please to have a read of

and start your own thread with a brief account of the circumstances (by all means include a link to this thread), all sides of the PCN (redact only yr name & address - leave all else in) and a GSV link to the location.
