Hi
I parked on a road which had MC on one side of the pole and GS on the other. I parked using a GS voucher, which was displayed clearly on the dashboard. I parked around at 15:30 facing the GS signs. I have parked there many times before, and at 16:05, I received a PCN notice. The alleged contravention stated '12w Parked in a residents' or shared use of parking place or zone without a valid permit or clearly displaying a valid physical permit or voucher or pay and display ticket issued for the place where required, or without payment of the parking charge.' The signs are misleading and confusing. If they wanted residents to park in the area, why are there two signs, MC and GS, on the same pole? I had a valid voucher with all the correct details. After receiving the PCN, I went back and noticed that the council had put up another small sign on another pole not visible to the drivers, stating MC Permit holder only. The drivers would not be able to see this sign; the sign they would see is on a pole directly in front. The time when I parked the car was dark, and anybody would have missed the new small signs. Why has the council not removed the GS signs if the parking is only for the Permit holders? I wish to challenge the PCN on the basis that the signs are unclear and confusing for the drivers.
