At the time, I was driving a rental car that was significantly larger than my usual vehicle. My own car had been written off the previous week after being hit by a drunk driver, so I was still getting used to the size and dimensions of the rental.
When I arrived on Dolman Road, there was a long stretch of empty parking bays. I drove along the road and chose the first available bay. As shown in the
satellite image, this bay is adjacent to a small section of pavement surrounded by bollards.
Because I was still unfamiliar with the larger vehicle, I was cautious about getting too close to the bollards and was also conscious of leaving enough space in case another vehicle parked closely behind me and blocked me in. I therefore left a gap between my car and the bollards, believing that I was parked appropriately given the road was empty and I was only going to be away for an hour.
After parking, I opened the parking app, paid for two hours of parking (over £7!), and then left the vehicle.
Nearly 36 hours after, the Hounslow Council website is still not showing images of the offence.. so I'm hoping that means there aren't any!
Here's a link to
images of the PCN. I also have pictures of the car in the spot, but haven't included those incase the council don't have any and I end up incriminating myself. If however, you think it'd be better to share them, I will.
