Was turning off the A4 Great West Road onto Rivercourt Road towards Hammersmith.
Seems that this road is fairly recently been designated as a LTN.
Have done this turn in the past lots of times so did not notice any signs on the A4.
As I made the turn, I noticed the signs and stopped. The A4 is busy so it was difficult to correct the mistake.
The front of my car was just over the line and this is the image and video they used to issue a PCN.

Can I use this as an argument that they had no evidence to show I drove through Rivercourt Road?

There have been a number of threads started on this location, a fairly recent new restriction, so search the forum. One common theme is the poor/non-existent warning signs on the main A40 road.

Can't open your video in Mediaplayer.  I get error that the file type is not recognised.

Can you also read this please and then update your post: -

Having now viewed the video, you definitely must take this all the way if they prove obdurate. The signage is just appalling. If it were placed much further back, then OK, but the way it is now with the signs literally at the start of the turn is really dangerous. In addition there is no advance warning on the A40.  It is also quite clear that nobody has studied the video before serving a PCN, because no contravention has occurred. H & F are behaving in a quite disgraceful manner, but until a case gets before an adjudicator, they'll just carry on in the same old way to get the money in.

It is best not to be confrontational, but firm.

I suggest you state that you had been driving up Rivercourt Road for many years from the A40 and was shocked when turning in, to be stopped by a person who pointed out the new signs which are impossible to see until starting the turn. They are placed such that huge danger would be caused by stopping before them and halfway out into the busy 40mph A40 trunk road. Therefore whilst you stopped, the front of the car passed the sign by a couple of feet. You consider this a very trivial contravention and are surprised that the council have (1) not placed any advanced traffic signs to warn motorists, and (2) not placed the signs such that a motorist seeing them can stop in safety before passing them, turn round, and rejoin the A40 to find another access road. You request that the PCN be cancelled, and the council revisit their signing of the restriction to make inadvertant entry into the top of the road possible, yet still maintain the restriction of driving along its length. The sole reason declared by H&F is to prevent the street being used as a short-cut to King Street, therefore a shorter length of Reivercourt Road would still acheeve its purpose.
