I’ve just received a penalty chargenotice for riding down a bus lane according to Swindon borough Council bylaws Motorcycles are allowed in bus lanes.

but here’s the issue they’re saying I rode down a bus gate but there are three signs indicating a bus lane and one road marking indicating a bus gate and my fixed penalty notice indicates it’s a bus lane.

One sign is 30 m down the road which is a standard bus lane sign. The second is on the turning itself facing the wrong way the third sign says bus lane camera not bus gate camera also facing the wrong way.
But the road markings painted on the road itself says bus gate, but you can’t see it until you get onto it by then it’s too late.

And the highway code says you must continue on if you take a wrong road.

so the council don’t even know what it is

Do I fight it or pay it?
I’m unfamiliar with the area and was following satnav .
so am I bang to rights or do I have a case?
