Entering a restricted road in London
« on: »
Driving for 20+ years but a new driver in London (i dont live there) as i needed some surgery done.

A camera has caught me entering a restricted road at 6am and wanted to know if i have a case with this one. We have nothing of the sort that ive come across in the UK, and i've never come across such restrictions in my entire life until i entered London that day.

Date of alleged offence: 22/08/2025
Date of this notice 1/09/2025
Date the notice arrived 3/09/2025
Location: Hammersmith and fulham

Reason the notice was given: Failing to comply with a prohibition on certain types of vehicle (m) motor vehicles

My reason why its not justified: Its impossible to read the sign on entry of this road. I have attached a picture of the road i was on and the restriction notice is the left turning ahead.

Please advise if I have a case?

You need to give us a clue...

Post the PCN and a link to Google street view of the location.

Also, when challenging the ticket, i only have the following options to choose from:

Please select your grounds for Representation:
I was not the owner of the vehicle at the time of the alleged contravention
The vehicle had been taken without my consent
   The contravention did not occur
The penalty charge exceeded the amount applicable in the circumstances
We are a hire firm and have supplied the name of the hirer along with a signed hire agreement

and

Presumably you drove into Bagleys Lane from Harwood Terrace?

I think that yiou have a case based on lack of advance signage.
The 1st GSV link above shows the base of what might be a relevant sign, but given the abundance of foliage there is absolutely no way of knowing.

Post yr draft reps here for comment and use e-mail rather than their online form.
