Congestion Charge Notice - Minories
« on: »
Hi,

I was travelling to Barking on 25th Nov 2025 for an appointment but my navigation somehow re-routed me and unknowingly  reached in EC2 zone , I was not aware that it was congestion zone.

I was supposed to take the over-bridge route to Barking but due to navigation error I entered side road which took towards central London. after receiving fine on 8th Dec from TFL congestion I realised that I entered congestion zone.I appealed for it saying that I entered by mistake due to my navigation error and was anxious to reach for an appointment for a medical emergency in Barking hospital. Now they have returned a letter on 12th Dec asking to provide evidence for an emergency hospital admission. Please help asap if it can be cancelled.

Many Thanks

Please read this and update your thread accordingly: -
https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/

I suggest you reply to TfL and provide the documentation they are requesting, as it looks as if they are minded to cancel the PCN, but need justification for doing so.

The bottom line is you do need to support your reps with some collateral to show you bona fides. Have you no record at all of the emergency attendance, or what led up to it ? You do need something.

Actually I was travelling to meet someone in Barking and on the way due to my navigation issue lost the route, just to appeal I said that I was travelling for an energecy appointnment. Not sure how to get emergency letter now.

Do you have any suggestion  @Incandescent ?

In the now edited opening post, ipsi clearly stated that they didn't have an emergency appoingment booked at the hospital and said this to TFL simply to avoid having to pay the penalty.
