Blue Badge parking
« on: »
Hello,

I parked in Coventry city centre just outside of CODE Fairfax Street, my sister, who is a blue badge holder with me in the car. I helped her take her stuff up in multiple trips as she is due to start uni soon.

On one of my trips back with the trolley, I came back to a ticket on the window - council - ‘Parking in a restricted area out of the prescribed time’

I flagged down the warden who was prancing about and he says that he noticed I’ve been going in and out of the car and that the badge is registered to someone older.  ::)
He demanded I bring my sister down from the 21st floor to prove that she was with me, I could’ve tbh, but refused to. I’d always been told anyway, once a ticket’s been processed, they can’t redact it.

He asked me her DOB, I said she was in her 20s and gave the exact birthday, he comes back to say it’s registered to someone in their 70s?! I’m really baffled here, can they make out the badge owner’s DOB from reg? Why would the warden goad me into saying otherwise when I know the badge is valid?

I’m still going to contest it. The badge was only in use for its rightful user and the gall of him,  absolute w*nker

Yes we need the PCN. Also Google Maps link.

I really don't think a blue badge number discloses age.

This should be fairly easy to refute. You will, of course, have to include the relevant BB details in your reps. Age is, anyway, irrelevant to any BB, and the CEO would seem to have been very badly trained.

What's the PCN number?
Please post up both sides of the PCN and leave everything visible. Don't redact anything as per the instructions which are in the READ THIS FIRST - **BEFORE POSTING YOUR CASE!** sticky post at the top of this forum.
The CEO can determine the age and gender of the BB holder.
And yes, the CEO cannot cancel the PCN once printed.

Hi All
Coventry City Centre
PCN Number 83680604
Vehicle red EA10 BOJ
pictures of PCN attached, here is the google maps reference:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/CODE+Fairfax+Street,+Coventry+Student+Accommodation,+Fairfax+St,+Coventry+CV1+5RQ/@52.4094949,-1.5039762,16z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x48774bb930d9ae69:0xe220ae2d3fb1c452!8m2!3d52.4094949!4d-1.5039762!16s%2Fg%2F11dzt3lt7f

You may see the middle portion of Fairfax Street may be parked in for 20 mins usually, though with a BB it can be occupied.

Thank you

You ment.
PCN Number CV83680604

To whom does the blue badge actually belong?
There is a discrepancy between your initial account of events and the BB shown in the CEO's evidence photos.

GSV suggests that the bay outside the CODE building is 20 mins for buses only? So were you parked on what appears to be the traffic island in the middle of the road? Is that a designated parking bay?

Yes, I was advised by a previous CEO that I may park there with a badge. It is not a traffic lane. Also, the PCN states I was observed from 13:49 to 13:56, this isn’t 20 mins, even without a badge

The BB was issued by the London Borough of Hackney to a female born in July 1970. So 54 years old today. In your opening post you've told us your sister is in her 20s.

"He asked me her DOB, I said she was in her 20s and gave the exact birthday, he comes back to say it’s registered to someone in their 70s?"

Please explain the discrepancy?

Yes, you are right, my sister holds a bb as does another member of my family who use the vehicle. I assumed it was my sister’s.

So basically, the CEO is correct and the BB has been misused, correct ?

I didn't say the owner wasn't in the vehicle either?
