Tower Hamlets, Code 51, failing to comply with a no entry restriction, Rushmead Road

Hi everyone,

On the 30th August, I entered a one way road in the wrong direction by accident. When I realized, I immediately reversed out (there was no traffic behind me) and went down the other road correctly.

I was really hoping the camera wouldn’t snap me as I only went a few meters down before realizing.

The video doesn’t document me reversing but you can see that I start to.

I know it’s a long shot but do I have any grounds to object this PCN? Thank you very much in advance.

Location on Google maps (latest picture from 2025 has the no entry signs covered but I'm pretty sure they were there, I was just driving stressed and initially missed them. I'm getting my friend to go and take pictures of the area to confirm):

IMO, that you then reversed goes to mitigation only and would therefore be disregarded by an adjudicator. Therefore, you're looking for technical/procedural arguments assuming that the NE signs are clearly visible. At present the council is demanding money for driving along a road. Why they can't include a photo of the actual signs in the PCN baffles me.

When we see the full PCN we can begin to assess its statutory compliance.
