The Council has now offered to pay a reduced £65 on this occasion, taking the circumstances into account.

Judging by what has been said here, it looks like I should take the offer.

The 56 days on that screen capture is merely an aspiration, it has no basis in law. The 56 day limit only applies to formal reps against a Notice to Owner.

I think you're best paying £65 - they are under no obligation to offer this and in fact state they won't on their website.

Most councils only issue permits with proof of address for the vehicle and for you for obvious reasons. You may have been able to get them to give you a temporary permit or visitors vouchers.

I didn't know I could ask for a temporary permit and I was never offered one.
